“People these days aren’t ready.” “The market isn’t ready.” “The Collective isn’t ready.” Aren’t you tired of waiting for the rest of the world to catch up?
I once met a man with a little slideshow he liked to give, looking for audiences all around India. He travelled with a slide projector in his backpack. His topic: How The World Is Waking Up. We found a small place for him in Rishikesh, enough for a small crowd. After the presentation, which lasted less than an hour, I understood a few things:
While this man was telling himself he had to convince others to wake up, in reality… he lacked conviction. He wanted company. He didn’t have the courage to go it alone.
Since that day, twenty years ago, every time I hear someone say they can’t do something because “others” won’t understand, others aren’t ready yet, yadda yadda yadda, I get the same feeling.
If you really believe in something, you’ll do it No Matter What. You don’t need agreement, or permission, or understanding. You don’t wait for the collective. You Go On Alone.
In other words… you become A True Leader.
