We’re all looking for things to go right
But in this world of “Somethings”
“Something” is always wrong
“Somethings” are always compared
To other “Somethings”
Found to be lacking
Not tall enough
Or too tall
Not fast enough
Or too fast
Too soon
Or too late
Instead, “Nothing” is always
Just right as it is
Just the right amount
At the right time
In the right place
That perfection
Is why
Nothing becomes
The preferred
Place to focus
Our attention
Who wouldn’t
Fancy a world
Without defects?
As my friend
Tim Cliss says,
“There’s an okayness
To Nothing
That Something
Can never have.”
